Measuring Our Impact
Even in a community of weavers, Premlata's work is well appreciated. In the COVID-19 hit hard times, the support of the Mekola Society has allowed her to earn a steady income of INR. 15,000 a month and can afford her children's school and tuition fees. "I'm weaving most of the time to provide for my family," says Premlata. Her daughter Albina dreams of becoming a teacher and that is a dream Premlata too shares.
Pushpam’s life was turned upside down when her husband, Bakampriyan, passed away unexpectedly, leaving her to face the world alone. Adding to her grief, she was diagnosed with diabetes, which led to the amputation of her leg. Unable to work and struggling with limited resources, Pushpam feared for her future. Seeking help, she turned to World Vision India for support to start a small livelihood. Through support from donors, we provided her with four goats, valued at ₹18,000. These goats have become a source of income and symbolized a new beginning. Thanks to this support, Pushpam is now able to support herself, regain her dignity, and move forward with hope and strength.
A Bicycle to Dream Bigger
Kaleeswari’s Story
Kaleeswari, a 14-year-old from Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, faced a daily struggle walking 6 km to school, leaving her exhausted and with little time to study. With support from World Vision India, she received a bicycle, easing her commute. This support not only helped her get to school faster but also created a better study environment at home. Now more confident and focused, Kaleeswari is determined to succeed. Her story highlights how small acts can make a big impact.
